When you're writing things like novels and stuff, or reading it, one awkward thing to come across is conveying the wackiness of what goes on inside the human mind. Someone's inner monologue can skip from topic to topic while daydreaming about surreal shit and when writing it down or reading it, a transition to such a perspective looks really weird and hard to follow. And for some people who may be obsessed with getting something done, their minds just might be all over the place and switching to different thoughts way faster.
